In the past, when people asked me in polite conversation "So, what do you do?," I'd mumble that I'm an author and a speaker. I struggled with the title of author and writer because in my heart of hearts, I'm a teacher. I came to realize that written words are simply my conversation with the reader sprinkled with humor and guidance. Readers can easily relate to and instantly place themselves in the circumstances and challenges. Grabbing that moment's insight!

"My attention drifted to the traffic speeding by our brick office building. From my vantage point I could look down into the passing cars. My eyes quickly picked out the cars with children's seats in them. I began counting and wondering. I wonder if we were successful this month? It was the day my menstrual cycle was to begin and as I looked outside I saw five or six cars containing children's seats pass by. In my mind's eye I could see our car with an infant carrier tucked safely in the back seat with the child mirror adjusted so that I would be able to watch our baby rest while I drove to our destination."
